Begonia pavonina aka “Peacock Begonia”, is one of the most breathtaking plant I ever put my eyes on. Its leaves are dark bronze color but they can produce shimmering iridescent blue on the right temperature, humidity and the angle of light impinging on the leaf. Also, as more it grows on the shadow, more it will develops the blue iridescence, although it can grow well in bright light. Another curious fact scientists have found is that its iridescence has the function to pull out more energy from the little light it receives on the cool and dark forest, as its real habitat is.
